Inside the Execution of SUBHADRA SHAKTI MELA 2025

Not Just Stalls, But Stories

Some projects come with scale. Some come with responsibility. And once in a while, one comes with both.

SUBHADRA SHAKTI MELA 2025 was one of those rare assignments where execution had to match intent at every level.

For twelve days, the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar was not just an event site. It became a functioning marketplace, a cultural space, and a public interface for a government initiative that aimed to do something very clear. Create real opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

Commissioned by the Government of Odisha through its Mission Shakti Department, and executed end to end by Seventh Avenue Eventz Pvt. Ltd., the mela stood as a large-scale example of how structured planning and disciplined execution can bring purpose-driven events to life.

Understanding the Brief

Every event begins with a brief. This one came with clarity.

The objective was to build a platform for women-led Self Help Groups to showcase and sell their products, while also creating an environment that encouraged footfall, engagement, and repeat visits.

The scale was significant. More than 300 stalls. Participants from 12 states. A duration of twelve consecutive days.

The expectation was not just to organise, but to sustain momentum across the entire duration. That meant the space had to work every single day, for both participants and visitors.

Planning the Ground Up

The IDCO Exhibition Ground offered scale, but scale alone does not create experience.

The first step was to design movement. How people enter, how they explore, where they pause, and what draws them forward. Stall layouts were planned to ensure visibility without congestion.

Pathways were structured to keep the flow natural.

Zoning played a critical role. Retail, food, cultural activity, and recreation areas were mapped in a way that allowed each segment to function without disrupting the other.

What looks simple on ground is often the result of multiple layers of planning. Here, every decision was made keeping both the visitor journey and participant convenience in mind.

Managing Scale Without Losing Control

Handling more than 300 stalls is not about allocation alone. It is about coordination at every stage.

From onboarding vendors to ensuring stall readiness, from managing utilities to resolving on-ground requirements in real time, the process required continuous monitoring.

Seventh Avenue Eventz Pvt. Ltd. deployed a structured system to ensure that operations remained smooth across all twelve days.

Timelines were followed. Issues were addressed before they escalated. Communication remained clear between teams, vendors, and authorities.

The goal was simple. Make sure the participants could focus entirely on their business, without worrying about the backend.

Building an Environment, Not Just an Event

A marketplace needs more than stalls to sustain attention.

Evenings were designed to shift the energy of the space. Cultural performances brought audiences together and increased dwell time. The food festival added another layer, making the mela a destination rather than a stop.

Live demonstration zones were introduced to create engagement. Visitors could see the process behind the products, which added depth to their experience. Dedicated areas for children ensured that families could spend more time without constraint.

Each of these elements was integrated into the larger plan, not as add-ons, but as essential parts of the experience.

On-Ground Execution

Execution at this scale is a continuous process.

Every day began before the gates opened and continued long after they closed. Teams were in place to manage operations, monitor crowd flow, support participants, and ensure that scheduled activities ran on time.

Coordination with multiple stakeholders, including government authorities, vendors, and performers, required consistency and discipline.

The measure of success was not just attendance, but the absence of disruption. Visitors moved freely. Stalls functioned without interruption. Programs ran as scheduled.

When an event runs the way it is supposed to, it often goes unnoticed. That is exactly how it should be.

A Platform That Delivered

The mela brought together a wide range of products, from handicrafts and handloom to food and lifestyle goods.

More importantly, it created direct interaction between sellers and buyers. This allowed participants to understand their market better while giving visitors a more personal buying experience.

Footfall remained strong across the duration, supported by a mix of retail, cultural programming, and food experiences.

For many participants, this was more than a sales opportunity. It was exposure, feedback, and a chance to operate in a structured marketplace environment.

Marking the Opening

The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.

The inauguration set the tone for the mela and reinforced the importance of the initiative at a state level.

Outcome and Impact

SUBHADRA SHAKTI MELA 2025 delivered on its core objectives.

It provided a large-scale platform for women entrepreneurs. It generated market exposure. It created an environment where business could happen without barriers.

For the Government of Odisha and the Mission Shakti Department, it served as a strong on-ground execution of their vision.

For the participants, it opened up new possibilities.

The Seventh Avenue Approach

At Seventh Avenue Eventz Pvt. Ltd. an event management organisation, the focus remains consistent across projects. Understand the objective. Build the structure. Execute with control.

SUBHADRA SHAKTI MELA 2025 reflects that approach. A project where scale, purpose, and execution came together to create an outcome that worked for every stakeholder involved.

Closing Note

Every event leaves behind a report. A few leave behind a benchmark. This was one of them.
